Ensure that the pump has a minimum water delivery capacity equal to the flow rate of the chosen pump.
Do not start the pump until it is completely submerged in the liquid.
Start the pump and operate it until the pumped liquid comes out completely clean. Otherwise the check valve may be blocked or the pump may be fouled.
